Human RNA Genes Counted Up

Human RNA Counted Up
From Science News, April 19, 2003

encode- be responsible for producting
embryonic- of or relating to an embryo
efficiency- being able to work well

A study found that about 200 to 255 human genes encode short strands of RNA instead of protein as their end product. Some scientists first found it in earthworms and other mammal.s The RNA strands made by these genes seem to regulate the activity of other genes. They think no more than 255 of them will be found.

I thought the article was very pointless, but the scientists were probably very excited and whatnot to find that out. Hopefully, it will lead to something that is interesting. However, I honestly didn't think any part of it was at all interesting, but just a waste of time.
